Well folks, it’s that time of year again when we start thinking about next year’s calendar. The 2016 Calendar collection will be sorted in the next few weeks so you will then be able to create that stunning gift for family and friends.
Christmas is just around the corner so get yourself sorted early if you have family abroard. Remember to check the last posting dates for where they live as there is a massive timescale difference between surface and airmail. Currently Royal Mail have not yet published their last dates but any day now. Here is a LINK to last year’s dates as a quick guide. I can’t see the 2015 dates being too different to these.
Should you have any questions about the weight of our Calendars etc please call.
Once again these will be offered in two sizes. The hanging calendar will be 8″x12″ and available in three versions. The desk calendar is 6″x4″ and available in two versions. Should you wish to create a calendar, all that you need are 12 images, one of which is also used on the cover, but the cover image can be from any month.
Local Scene Calendars
Local scenes prove very popular, with many calendars winging their way around the globe. Laste year we worked in conjunction with the ‘We Love Stourport-past and present day’ Facebook page who ran a competition for people to win the chance of having one of their own images on a local calendar. We are doing the same again this year and there is still time to enter. Details here
This year we have been also been asked to work with the ‘All Things Bright and Bewdley’ Facebook page to create a calendar from a competition they are running. Along the same lines as the Stourport one, but now more relative to those of you who live in Bewdley. Details here as well. Please note that the deadline for the Bewdley calendar is different to Stourport.
The Local Scene calendars will be available in three sizes. 8″x12″ & 6″x9″ hanging and 6″x4″ desk types.
Get snapping folks and who knows, your best image may end up on a wall in Australia or America.
Film Processing & Our Film Amnesty
Film Processing is a dying breed, but we are here to help. It is a fairly safe bet that we older people have at some time found one or several 35mm films in a drawer and not known what is on them. This then begs the question of “is it worth having them printed?” Yes it is worth it, but it is not necessary to have a set of 4″x6″ prints made only to find out you have 30 shots of the floor and 6 of a tree.
Our Film Amnesty is the solution for you in that we will process any old 35mm(C-41 process) films you find and create a 5″x7″ index print showing what is on the film. You can then make a decision as to whether it is worth having full sized prints made.
This Film Amnesty option comes to you for ONLY £2 per film. If however, you film is blank, the charge is ONLY £1 and let’s face it, for such a small cost it is well worth getting your films and disposable cameras processed.
Even though film processing is becoming increasingly harder to find around the country, we will continue to offer a service to you for as long as we possibly can. Film is by no means dead, just nowhere near as popular as it used to be.
We are able to process Black & white films such as Ilford XP-2 or Kodak T400CN as these are both C-41 process. However, we are NOT able to process the likes of Ilford FP4, HP5 or Kodak TRI-X as these are conventional Black & White process. We can however, print from these types of films if you have already had them processed.
Week Two Brings Upsurge In Fine Art Printing
Well here we are, into the second week of the new site and all is good. Feedback from customers has been very positive, which is a help for my sanity. This whole task of creating a new site really did at times take it’s toll on my sanity, as any of you who have done the same will certainly know. Very much a case of ‘why the hell did I ever start this’.
Most difinitely one of those jobs to not undertake very often.
We have had a sudden up-surge in local artists wanting their work printed on fine art paper. Both for open and limited editions. There are some very talented artists around here. Sadly I am not one of them as I can’t draw to save my life. Should any of you wish to have some supreme quality Fine Art Giclée prints made from your artwork or photographs check HERE for more information. We only use high quality acid free papers from the Permajet range and you can purchase a sample pack for only £5 and this price includes a £5 voucher to redeem against your first Fine Art order of £25 or more.
More next week……………..
Welcome to our shiny new website layout. I have updated our site with a new WordPress version which after being able to do most things in HTML has been quite a steep learning curve to learn WordPress and the way it does, or doesn’t in some cases, do things.
Let us know what you think, good or bad and shout if you think changes could be made to improve things.
